The Tuna Fishers Association of the Municipality of San Jose under the administration of Mayor Antonio B. Chavez gratefully received the Fish Aggregating Device (“PAYAO”, Visayan term used to catch fish) on August 18, 2017 at Sabang, San Jose, Camarines Sur from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources’ (BFAR) through the effort of the Municipal Agriculture Office headed by Mrs. Grace T. Santelices, Acting Municipal Agriculturist.

It consisted 8 rolls no. 20 nylon and 1 cylindrical Styrofoam to be used as floater. The device will serve as a bait for the fishes to be easily caught. Along with it, the beneficiaries are only allowed to 15 km from the shoreline fishing area.

The budget of the said materials were provided by the World Wide Fund (WWF) and BFAR which was approved through submitting a request letter from the Municipal Agriculture Office.

The Tuna Fishers Association consisting of fifty (50) members were coming from the barangays of Sabang, Danlog, Calalahan, and Adiangao.

Mayor Chavez said in his short message that the government is doing its part to give aid to its constituents by giving additional source of income that is why, the beneficiaries should also do their obligations.

Thirty-one (31) of the members of the association attended the turn-over of the fishing materials.
