The Ronda Pilipinas 2017 Stage 6 was successfully accomplished in the municipality of San Jose under the administration of Mayor Antonio B. Chavez on February 14, 2017. It started from diligent coordination of LGU San Jose with the Ronda Pilipinas race organizer to the implementation of Route and Traffic Security Plan by San Jose MPS and clearing of the roads where the event passed and the festive arrangements including the banners, flaglets, and assignment of different committees.
The Ronda Pilipinas riders with a total of 130 participants competed for the Individual Time Trial (ITT) Category gaining the 1st place for King of the Mountain Leader by John Paul Morales from the Philippine Navy wherein the award is represented by Polka Dots Jersey. The second place was awarded to his teammate Ronald Demotas. Higher award which is represented by Sprinkled Jersey was again achieved by Mr. Morales, thus, transferring his Polka Dots Jersey to Mr. Demotas and receiving the Sprinkled Jersey symbolizing Leadership in King of the Mountain.
Another major award given was the Young Rider Leadership signified by a Yellow Jersey achieved by Mr. Daniel Vin Cariño coming again from the Philippine Navy Team. This award is categorized among riders aging 23 years old and below. The highest award was the over-all leadership in Individual Category again achieved by one of the Team Navy Riders, Mr. Rudy Roque, maintaining the position for 6 consecutive stages.
Stage 6 competition also awarded the Top 3 teams bearing the 3rd place by team “Go for Golds” finishing the race for 1:11:51. They received P5,000.00 cash for the award. Team Kinetics Love Philippine Army beat the team Go for Gold with only 30 seconds as they complete the race for 1:11:21 gaining the second place with P10,000.00 cash award; while the best team for Stage 6 was attained by the Standard Insurance Philippine Navy as they eagerly finished the race for 1:8:16 gaining P20,000.00 cash prize.
The awards were presented by the Ronda Pilipinas Executive Project Director, Moe Chulani, Mayor Antonio B. Chavez, and Mr. Manny Clidoro, Municipal Administrator together with the Ronda Girls.
The program was highlightened by the performance of Vendetta of Salbacuta who sang his mostly known song “Stupid Love” and Ronda Pilipinas Team Song with the jam of the San Josenians and also the Dance numbers of ABC Cultural Dancers.
