More than a thousand patients from various barangays of San Jose, Camarines Sur has already availed of the LGU’s free laboratory services since the San Jose Diagnostic Center (SJDC) was inaugurated by Mayor Antonio B. Chavez last February 14, 2014.
The center was founded as one of the integral parts of the “Ayuda” Program commonly known as “Libreng Serbisyo” Program to many for Mayor Chavez healthcare assistance projects exclusively for legitimate San Joseneans residents only.
SJDC offers free electro-cardiograph (ECG), ultrasound and blood chemistry examination as well as X-ray service which was just recently opened last April 7, 2015.
Mayor Chavez explained that most patients lack financial resources to submit themselves for laboratory diagnoses of their blood, blood pressure or for ultrasound examination of pregnant women, that is why, he exerted his best efforts to put up the town’s own laboratory which is believed to be the only diagnostic center owned by a local government unit in Camarines Sur.
Meanwhile, SJDC has served for free a total of 536 patients who underwent ECG, 271 for ultrasound examination and 251 patients for blood chemistry tests, while the X-ray service has already served a total of 33 patients since it started operation this month.
Mayor Chavez further announced the following schedule of these free services: ECG – Monday afternoon to Friday; X-ray – Tuesdays and Fridays; Ultrasound – Tuesdays and Thursdays; Blood Chemistry – Tuesdays and Thursdays.
