The Local Government Unit of San Jose under the present administration of Mayor Antonio B. Chavez in coordination with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) launched the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) at the San Jose National High School (SJNHS) in Boclod, San Jose, Camarines Sur. The launching activity was held last February 2, 2015 and participated in by the high school students and faculty members of the school headed by its principal, Mrs. Rosemarie C. Lozada.
The Municipal Civil Registrar of LGU-San Jose, Mrs. Muriel Abragan, formally launched the said project with the theme, “SAMA KA SA CRVS GROUPHIE.” The main objective was to register and to give more valuable attention on the undocumented children particularly the newly-born child who has most frequently been failed to get registered with the local civil registration office. Mrs. Abragan said that the school was chosen as the launching venue because of its good and spacious surroundings.
Meanwhile, Mayor Chavez also made announcement about the 2015 Kasalang Bayan on February 12, 2015 which would formally records cohabiting couples and eventually induct them into legal wedding ceremonial rites to be held at the San Jose Cultural Center particularly those couples who belong to the low income group. Mayor Chavez also expressed his appreciation on the presence of Mr. Raul P. Aspe Jr., Statistical Coordinator II of the Philippine Statistics Authority as the Guest Speaker.
In his short message, Mr. Aspe encouraged the general public and particularly addressed the students by stressing the vital importance of civil registration particularly to those less educated and poor people who are most frequently prefer not to register their children because they don’t really know how; and the students are their ultimate hope for great help and assistance.
The students and the faculty members thru their high school principal, Mrs. Lozada, gladly expressed their full support on the call of the PSA coordinator.
