Five coastal barangays will be the direct beneficiaries of “Project Convenio,” a project to be funded by Siervas de Maria Ministras de Enfermos, one of the NGOs extending help and assistance to the barangay local government units in the municipality of San Jose.
The particulars of the project was discussed during the conference held last May 5, 2015 at the Municipal hall lobby among the representatives of the LGU led by Mayor Antonio B. Chavez, Siervas de Maria headed by mother Sylvia Enriquez, Ms. Ixone Llorente, and the Punong Barangay of Sabang, Dolo, Manzana, Telegrafo and Tagas. These were the barangays selected for the implementation of the project.
Mayor Chavez expressed his appreciation to Siervas de Maria for its kind gesture of including his town as one of the three municipalities in the 4th District of Camarines Sur for the said project.
The Sectoral Coordinator of Siervas de Maria, Ms. Betty R. Perit, explained that the main objectives of the program were to promote good governance in local government units, and building resilient communities with emphasis on disaster risk reduction management.
Meantime, it was agreed that the formal launching of the project will be done sometime in the following week after the documentation requirements are complied by the selected barangay beneficiaries. It would be simultaneously with the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for such purpose.
