The Kapisanan ng mga Broadkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-CENRO Goa headed by Mr. Erasto C. Abrera, PNP-San Jose supervised by PSI Bernardo Salar Peñero, 82nd and 22nd Infantry Division commanded by Staff Sgt. Teodoro Mendoza, and the local government unit under the administration of Mayor Antonio B. Chavez participated in the recently held nationwide tree planting activity as part of the KBP countrywide project.

Thousands of Narra, Talisay, Mahogany, and fruit bearing seedlings were planted by the members of the KBP Camarines Sur Chapter, personnel and staffs of LGU-San Jose, the Philippine Army, and the Philippine National Police, during the simultaneous nationwide KBP Oplan Broadcastreeing project in barangay Telegrafo last August 6, 2010, Saturday at 7 in the morning.


A total of 61 announcers that have been a KBP member from the different radio stations and television networks attended the special event. The KBP participants were from Bombo Radyo (DZNG); DWRB; DWLV; DWJR; DWEB-Nabua; DWJJ-Rincunada; Energy FM-Naga; Farm Radio Libmanan; Farm Radio-Naga; Home Radio-Naga; Love Radio-Daet; M.O.R-Naga; OK FM; and Radyo Natin-Iriga City. There were also from television networks from ABS-CBN-Naga; GNN; and GMA-Manila and for print media, personnel from Manila Bulletin also came to participate in the said activity.
They were joined by more than 60 Criminology students from Partido State University-San Jose campus; LGU Scholars League; LGU-San Jose staffs and employees; Philippine National Police from Goa, Lagonoy, San Jose and Tigaon and 15 personnel from 82nd and 22nd Infantry Division-Mabalodbalod, Tigaon.

Meanwhile, Edwin Lara, KBP Chairman of the Camarines Sur Chapter, expressed his gratitude for the support of the successful tree planting activity. He stressed that the KBP members are not only to provide News & Public services but also to extend their care and help in protecting the environment.


The tree planting was followed by 9 AM friendly basketball game between the team of KBP Cam Sur vs. Team LGU-San Jose that was held at San Jose Sports Complex. The game started with the ceremonial toss led by Mayor ABC, KBP Chairman Romar Vasquez  and Mr. Edwin Lara, KBP Chairman CamSur Chapter. It started with a fun and exciting play made by the team KBP and then elevated in the second half of the game. Team LGU was pushed to their limits and played the game well and though it was a close fight between the two teams still the team KBP went home with a win closing the game with the scores of 115-112 in favored of the team KBP. Over-all, it was a good and fair game that was enjoyed not only by the players of both teams, but also by the other invitees.

After the game, the LGU prepares a boodle fight for the KBP members before leaving the town.
