A total of 189 LGU-San Jose scholars, together with both municipal and barangay officials, employees, as well as the PNP personnel, were the participants of the coastal cleanup and tree planting activities conducted last June 12, 2015 along the shoreline of Dolo, San Jose, Camarines Sur spearheaded by Mayor Antonio B. Chavez of the local government of San Jose, Camarines Sur.
The two activities were both undertaken consecutively in conjunction with the 117th Independence Day celebration which was done with a short program at the town’s Poblacion plaza attended by both the CHED and Deped local officers and faculty members of public schools, colleges and universities assigned at San Jose.
The celebration also highlighted the Sumba Exercises in the early morning. It was followed by the Freedom Walk/Run and Mass Flag Raising activities. In the afternoon, a coastal cleanup was done along the Dolo shorelines near the San Jose Port as well as a tree planting activity was undertaken at the vicinity of the Dolo Elementary School, where 5 French nationals who at the same time GK visiting guests, also voluntarily participated.
