The Sabang Passenger Port at barangay Sabang, this town was blessed and officially inaugurated this morning (June 30, 2014) by Mayor Antonio B. Chavez and witnessed by San Jose municipal and Sabang barangay officials and residents.
The project which was financed by the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) at the cost of 15 million pesos was constructed for San Jose LGU by E. Garcia Builders and was originally called “Sabang Port Development Project with Back-up Area and Terminal Building”.
After the completion of the project, DOTC turned-over the same to the LGU represented by Mayor Chavez last May 29, 2014.
The port was built at the 30-meter by 30-meter reclaimed area at Sabang river.
In his short speech today, the Mayor said that the new port will serve passengers and the general public by giving them a nice and clean place to rest and relax and spacious parking lot for their vehicles.
He appealed to everyone to keep the area and its building, as well as the restrooms always clean and orderly for the benefit of everyone.
