San Jose, Camarines Sur- Mayor Antonio B. Chavez stressed the need for every Filipino to be registered at the National Statistics Office (NSO) thru the Municipal Civil Registrar’s Office (MCRO) where they were born.

During the Culminating Program of Civil Registration Month (February 1-28, 2014) held at the lobby of the Municipal Hall last Monday, March 3, this year, Mayor Chavez emphasized that it is the duty and responsibility of every resident of this town to register every marriage, birth or death in the family for legal and reference purposes.

Featured at the occasion were the awarding of cash prizes and citations to the winners of the “Search of Huwarang Magulang sa Pagtatalang Sibil” “Poster Making Contest” and “Slogan Making Contest”

Other activities that were implemented during the period by the LGU thru the office of the Municipal Registrar under Municipal Registrar Muriel L. Abragan include, among others, Display of Streamer of Civil Registration Month Celebration, Tree-Planting at Sabang Elementary School Campus on which 100 tree seedlings were planted, Kasalang Bayan last February 14, 2014 wherein 123 live-in couples were married and signed their Marriage Contracts before Mayor Chavez, Selection of Miss Gay Civil Registration 2014, Search for Huwarang Magulang sa Rehistro Sibil, Slogan and Poster Making Contest held last February 24, and Free Issuance of Civil Registry Documents to 250 recipients last February 27, 2014.
