The Bureau of Fire Protection in cooperation with the Local Government Unit of San Jose under the administration of Mayor Antonio B. Chavez steered the Blessing and Turn-Over of Newly Constructed Typical San Jose Fire Station at Market Site, Boclod, San Jose, Camarines Sur on February 27, 2017. The program started with the Blessing Ceremony and Ribbon cutting officiated by Rev. Fr. Wilfred V. Almoneda, Parish Priest of St. Joseph Parish.
The part two is the program proper which started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem followed by an Opening Remarks by SFO1 Joey F. Villarama, Municipal Fire Marshal, San Jose Fire Station. He laid emphasis on extending his gratitude to BFP and especially to LGU San Jose for supporting the constructing of the Fire Station. He stressed that it was a dream come true for the BFP and the San Josenians. Another message was given by the Assistant Regional Director for Operations, SUPT. Atty. Hyacinth Grajeda. She pronounced that it marks a new beginning for the entire community to make everyone at peace in terms of emergency. Likewise, SUPT. Damian J. Rejano Jr., Provincial Fire Marshal of Camarines Sur gave thanks to all the support of the LGU San Jose. After the messages of some BFP Personnel, a song number was given by FO1 Ronald Busadne.
On his message, Mayor Chavez promised to provide firetruck drivers while waiting for the personnel to be downloaded from BFP. He also suggested to proposing for budget regarding the other necessity in the office and gave thanks to the Sangguniang Bayan for approving the resolution authorizing the Mayor to donate the firetruck. He also acknowledged the presence of the Barangay Captain of Boclod, Hon. Roberto Luzada. The Vice Mayor Virgilio E. Panuelos also extended his thanks to everyone including the BFP, the Mayor and the Sanguniang Bayan Members.
Subsequently after the messages, they proceeded to the signing of Acceptance of Fire Station by the BFP-Region 5 Regional Logistic Officer, INSP Sarena Socorro S. Toralba followed by Ms. Evelyn Villen from FILMANA Constructor, SFO1 Villarama and Supt. Rejano. Another signing was completed for the Deed of Donation of Firetruck from the LGU San Jose represented by Mayor Antonio Chavez to the BFP as the donee represented by the Regional Director CSUPT Igmedio U. Bondoc Jr., MPA, witnessed by SFO1 Villarama and Mr. Manny D. Clidoro, Municipal Administrator.
The formal turn-over of Fire Station was done by CSUPT. Bondoc, SUPT. Rejano, INSP Tolarba to SFO1 Villarama witnessed by Mayor Chavez and Vice-Mayor Panuelos. After which is the Sliding Pole Demonstration shown by FO1 Rommel O. Agravante and FO1 Eugene B. Dialogo Jr. I wearing complete firemen uniform. Another intermission number was performed by ABC Cultural Dancers that gave enlightenment to the program.
The closing remarks and at the same time an inspirational message was rendered by CSUPT Igmedio U. Bondoc Jr. He started his talk by recognizing the efforts of the LGU and emphasized that it would not be made possible without the support and trust of the LGU to BFP. He also explained that BFP is composed of licensed professionals coming from different strata wherein they are not only delegated for firefighting but also to ensure the safety of the people in the community wherever they go through lectures and trainings that they rather choose to wear trousers and heavy boots instead of coats and ties. He further quoted a known passage that says, “What is essential is invisible to the eyes”. Thus imploring to the audiences and the community to don’t get mad and envy if they see fire personnel lying relax on their back because it only means that they are reserving their energy in case they are called for duty. He defined it as pro-active firemen while the other kind is the active wherein referring to firemen on fire suppression site. He also cited the Republic Act 6975 stating that BFP to the supervision of DILG needs to establish at least one fire station in a municipality, station complete with equipment and personnel. Hence, promised to adding four personnel to the two personnel presently assigned in BFP San Jose. He also stressed that the construction of Fire Station will not only bring peace and safety to the people but will also contribute to the revenue of the municipality because one of the considerations of businessmen in investing is the fire safety of the locality.
CSUPT Bondoc also mentioned the celebration of Fire Prevention Month with the theme, “Buhay at Ari-Arian ay Pahalagahan, Kaligtasan sa Sunog sa Pamamahay Nagsisimula” and asked for the cooperation of everyone. He also brought up the information from the BFP in looking for 2000 potential fire personnel wherein the province of Camarines Sur should fill the quota of 108 personnel.
The program ended by the singing of BFP Hymn and pictorials. SFO1 Marlene R. Celadina, Assistant FSES for Fire Code Fees Collection, BFP Camarines Sur Provincial Office was the master of ceremony of the program.
