A thanksgiving mass at 6:30 in the morning on May 14 this year will signal the start of the 7-day activities prepared by the local government unit (LGU) in connection with the forthcoming San Jose town fiesta on May 18-19, 2015.

Mayor Antonio B. Chavez said that the mass on Day One is a pious offering to God, our Creator for the bountiful blessings that the Lord in heaven has so lovingly given to the municipality of San Jose.

After the spiritual offerings, the following activities will be held in the morning: Abre Gana Run at 7:30, then opening of the San Jose Farmers Plaza at 9:00; and in the afternoon, the exhibition of ABC San Jose Tourism from 1:00-5:00, and the presentation of the Farmer/Fisher’s Cultural Show at 6:00-10:00 in the evening.

On Day 2 (May 15), Games of the Children and selection of Piololo and Angelola will be held before the Grand Finals of “Ang Bagong Champion” which starts at 7:00 o’clock in the evening.

The first presentation scheduled on Day 3 (May 16) is the 1st San Jose National Skating Contest to begin at 8:00 in the morning and followed by the Battle of Scholars from 7:00-10:00 in the evening.

On Day 4 (May 17) starts with the San Jose Fishing Competition at 6:00-9:00 in the morning and the Job Fair from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM simultaneously with the 2nd ABC Invitational Football Cup. At around 1:00 PM is the MOA signing of the Solar Lighting System for the San Jose Port between the LGU-San Jose, Philips and WWF; and capping the day’s activities will be the Miss San Jose Beauty Pageant together with the GMA Network guest stars.

On Day 5 (May 18), the Civic Parade, Street Dancing and the Elementary Majorette Contests will begin at around 8:00 in the morning. It will be followed by the “Tanod of War” at 2:00 PM then the Feast of Bands from 7:00-12:00 in the evening.

On Day 6 (May 19), the Balikbayan and employees will have their day at the Beer Plaza and on the 7th day, May 20, is Summer in Motion sponsored by DepEd-San Jose.
