Mayor Antonio B. Chavez of San Jose together with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management officer, Engr. Gabby Obias conducted ocular inspection last October 1, 2015 at areas where flash floods can be expected particularly during heavy rains and thunderstorm brought about by the tropical depression “KABAYAN”.
Earlier, Mayor Chavez cancelled/postponed his other important commitments just to make sure that the constituents along flash flood areas are safe and secure particularly in barangays Kinalansan, Dolo, and Sabang as well as in other coastal barangays like Manzana and Telegrafo which places are low-lying areas most frequently affected during natural calamities like typhoons and storm surges.
So far, a short-lived flood was observed at Barangay Kinalansan brought about by heavy rains that would usually cause irrigation canals and small creeks to overflow. It was reported that the road going to Sabang remains passable even during the height of heavy rains.
No damages on crops and agricultural products were reported as of this writing.
