The Local Government Unit of San Jose under the administration of Mayor Antonio B. Chavez through the Office of the Senior Citizens headed by Mr. Edgar I. Malate conducted the induction of the new Barangay Senior Citizens Association (BASCA) from the twenty-nine (29) barangays of San Jose on January 19, 2018 at the Senior Citizen Center, San Antonio, San Jose, Camarines Sur with the theme, “Kamagurangan, kita an Modelo kan Kajovenan”.
The Mayor appealed to the elderlies to help the LGU in updating the records of the Senior Citizens especially their birthdays. He pointed on rendering the proper service to the public specifically prioritizing the elders with disabilities and those aging 80 years old and above.
Hon. Virgilio Panuelos, Municipal Vice Mayor stated that the legislative department is always on support with the programs of the Local Chief Executive. On the other hand, the MSWDO, Mrs. Helen J. Mendoza told them to open up their proposals.
The program aims to: Partake to each secretary the knowledge in handling and running an association; Cultivate hidden knowledge and capabilities of each BASCA Secretary to be able to share it to the next generation; and To have strong and solid relationship with each BASCA secretary.
The oath-taking ceremony was facilitated by the Municipal Mayor Antonio Chavez.
